Wheels will have to be at least 15" to clear. I have a set of Corrado steel wheels that will work but there's a lot of other considerations before I settle on which wheels I'll finally use.

I didn't get these discs from GAP but GAP do sell this size. GermanAutoParts.com

Here's a side by side shot of a G60 calliper next to a MK2 16v calliper. (The MK2 calliper is the same as MK3)

This is awesome. Brown-Davis are renowned for their bolt-in MX5 rollbars.

I've tee'd up some help to do the rust repairs to the floor and A pillar during the week and then it's off to Brown Davis on Friday for a rollcage.

In other news, the brakes arrived today. With the dollar so strong the timing was good to bring these in.

These are Corrado G60 twin pot calipers and will bolt straight up to the 16v MK2 hubs I'm going to use. The calipers are enormous!

Where did you get those calipers from Pete? very nice bit of kit

These are brand new from Bahn Brenner but it is possible to find them second hand if you scour the universe.

    Search eBay for "Girling 60"

They were fitted to some of the more powerful Audi 80 & 90s.

They're a bolt on upgrade for a MK3 but there's some work to do to get them onto a MK1.

There are adaptor brackets for these to bolt up to MK1 hub MMP >> Braking

I'm using MK2 16v hubs (so long as I can adapt them ok) the brackets above are plan B.

Depends, Both have pros and cons.

Chemical stripping removes everything including all the stuff inside the cavities. Can be tricky to get all of the caustic solution out of the cavities which can cause paint to bubble down the track.

Media blasting won't remove all of the paint everywhere and there's a risk of distorting the panels. Very hard/expensive to remove body deadener using media blasting.

Chemical stripping doesn't remove rust in itself, many places offer a second cleaning process to remove rust.

Both methods cost about the same.

Mine's a race car so future paint issues don't bother me as much as getting all the body deadener and seam sealer out of it.

Picked up the car and panels today.

There's less rust in it than I expected and the shell is really straight.
