yeah, a bit more progress tonight, thats right gave up bubble cup to bleed the brakes, but it was worth it...

this is from a couple of nights ago

since then i have built the rest of the brakes up. i had new brake hoses and lines made up. which came up really good...
so happy to have the car back on its feet.

I got this poor old gld off another forum member

I have salvaged a few bits off it, but this is the main reason for getting it

I might try and salvage the wheelhouse as well, the previous repair on the orange one aint great.

wow may was my last post that is a bit lazy
well i have been doin other things with my other cars
anyway since german autofest i have had some motivation/time to have a bit of a look at the front of the mk1 and start some resto work

bit of rust - same both sides, no biggy

this is a bit crap though. someone has opened up the lip on the guard welded to the front panel and filled over... nice

happy how this is coming up had a few dents here and there, looking good now
this guard was sealed on down the pillar with no bolts, i half destroyed it getting off, but its back in some sort of shape now.
fair rust repairs needed on lower section of guard and guard frame... should be fun

Great news. Spring is the time to do it, before the shed gets too hot in the sun!!
