Are you running a 2.8 ECU or are you going aftermarket ? If aftermarket, and you are looking for constant lock on the rear diff, there is a solenoid valve that has very little electronics that could be bought for $ 400.00 but is only adjustable from underneath the car.

Otherwise as I mentioned, I am waiting for my contact to finish testing an adjustable haldex controller for in-cabin to work with the original ECU. Will let you know when I have some more information but essentially it sends tricks signals to lock up the diff as per the setting.

The car orignally ran a subie motor and a Lbox (beetle with straight cuts and albins. quaife.

Everything is quiet clear wat you boys are explaining!...I no pics could help but i have a 6 speed box and 2.8 motor ,i have the allmotion 4wd set up

I want the gearbox to only operate the rear 2wd..?I dont need to operate the frnt wheel drive...

If somone can host some pics for me that would be great..this will show the car..PLEASE
My comment above went out the door

ok will a audi 1.8T box fit?

can someone give me make model dates please? and also how strong are these boxes.

Not sure about mating boxes to engines. But if you go the G50 you will need to get the box modified to run in true middy config (I believe it needs to be run upside down and if you want it to survive it needs oil line mods) = $$$ and only a real option if you need to put silly power through it IMO.

The passat and A6 longitudinal design 'should' just bolt up with flywheel, clutch and starter.

I guess most of them will be the same. I'd be more interested in ratios (diesel v's petrol?)
