I have mine insured with Shannons for "limited use". Agreed value of 10k and it only cost a couple hundred a year.

Yep Tim that's exactly what I'm doin but NRMA classic car for around $300 a year. I probably didn't word that very good but it was the standard NRMA policy that offered me those figures. Limitations are 8000 Km's a year ( I'd find it very hard to clock more than that), and only recreational use.

Sweet rocco! Love the prefacelift front end.. What are your plans wheel/suspension wise? What colour are you going to paint it - original silver?

I've just bought myself another mk1 rocco too, check it out if you like: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Haus102/250992111652838

hey mate im going to most likely stick with Weitec Hicons as i had them on the MK1 and they got pretty low without damaging anything or being ridiculous uncomfortable. Do you have any suggestions?

I was thinking 15s for wheels, i was actually going to buy the zender turbo phase 2s from Dom (WABIT)! But i want to move away from 15's as i prefer 14's for the style i am going for. And good 14' wheels arent easy to find unfortunately...

Colour....this is still very well up in the air considering the original Diamond Silver but also like the idea of perhaps a bit of a darker shade of silver but thats a bit off for now anyway

Haha, we're on the same page. I haven't ever done coils in a mk1 before so can't recommend any! I'm looking for some 2nd hand (good quality ones) Will keep an eye out for some Weitecs..

I agree on the 14" thing.. I have a set of cherry red RMs that I want to run but they're 15s. Was also looking at the Phase 2s, but same thing - 15s. I have my eye on some 14" splits and am thinking something like 14x8 and 8.5 sits nicely. I think you'll be happier with it if you hold out for some good 14s! Check out this build for some inspiration! The factory mk1 darker silver is Platinum silver metallic - same as my car and the one in this build:

So took the rococo out this evening and didn't go too well...

The battery was previously drained dead by a dip sh*t mechanic who was going to do the blue slip

Tonight the car seemed to hesitate when revving over 3k and would begin to jerk, and then when I would turn the headlights on the revs will drop n the engine struggles to stay alive. When I put high beams on the engine cuts instantly.

Also the exhaust will often backfire upon hesitation.

None of these issues existed prior to the battery being drained so I was thinking put in a trial/ new battery ???

Does anyone have any possible light to shed? It would be a massive help

    Thanks

    Dom

I had pretty much the same issues with the mk2, idled perfect but as soon as it was under load the engine would either die or struggle hard to stay on. Turned out to be when I got the immobiliser taken out the auto electrician moved my negative lead into the worst earthing position on the clutch lever so everytime I used the clutch BAM no earth, so I would suggest checking your earthing.

If thats all fine I got nothing...
