    1.8 k-jet, turbo-able?

Does anyone know how much of a task it would be to turbo a 1.8 k-jet engine?
If anyones got any ideas on prices, that would be lovely too : )

    Yes, it is possible.

It's a pretty decent task, unless you're a wizard with Kjet, you'll have to find someone that is. And pay them lots of money to tune your car.

Have a search here for "oneofthegreats". Like the name suggests he's a very bright fella who did his own turbo set up on a 1.9 Kjet, despite alot of people (here and on other forums) thinking it wasn't do-able. Turns out it is. You've just need to know what you're doing.

As for prices, well, you've gotta have a car and engine that's suitable and reliable etc, and then turbo, manifold, tuning etc. Hope all your Kjet kit is in good nick too. So really, hard to but an exact figure on it. Could be any where from 1K to 10K.

    Fun car to drive, that.

What parts would you need, Jarred?

Thanks for that Jarred, and also to you Jace for the link.

Jarred, the engine I'm getting is in good condition and has 140k on the clock. The car is a Mk1 Gti Cab. This turbo idea won't start to become a reality for probably a year or two, by then I might've changed the engine anyway.

    Cool.

It is do-able. But it won't be easy, so doing your homework is a must

Take a look at the k-jet section on vwvortex and there are a few conversions to learn from.
