Gonna rain on Sunday
Anyone else silly enough to come out and play?
LOL...nah all good. Big man hug. Just no homo k? Man can't stop thinking about you and your man-toe...*sigh* you've ruined me in the mental sense LOL...
Man just dreaming about what life would be like if one had a stack of money and could go to the track whenever and didn't give a rats ass if anything broke.

No rain, excellent weather.
The award for over achievement in the field of commitment goes to Greg for his interpretation of turn 1.

Holy C%ap, must have scared the hell out of him
From the video, bit hard to see, I thought the car had rolled, but guessing it didnt, any damage?
MODS- TOO MANY
Holy **** man. My heart nearly stopped when I saw the blurred slow motion part of the video cause it looked like Greg spun out and flipped. Hope he didn't and no major damage was sustained. Would've been effin scary though.
From the pics, it looks like Greg's car has been turned into a jacked up 4wd in one and the other 2 it looked like his rear end was jacked up high? Is it just my eyes playing tricks on me or is Greg experimenting with rake?
No Wonder you lost it, as dave said your car is like a 4X4

MODS- TOO MANY
Greg's car is fine, he rejoined the same session after a quick inspection.
The car seems to nose dive a bit under brakes bringing the back up in those photos.
Usual fixes include lowering, stiffer front springs and shocks.

See you at Sandown!!

Which goes to show that my Polo doesn't need a rear anti-roll bar
I may get one if I also get a stiffer front bar to match but other things need to be sorted and tested first.
Actually, it was LACK of commitment that caused the spin - after turning into turn 1 without braking, I didn't have the nerve to keep some accelerator on to keep the car neutral so the weight transfer caused lift off oversteer. I may have still had the tyres the wrong way around in that session too .
I was pretty happy to finish that session off with a 2:12 after coming in for a quick walk around to make sure everything was still where it was supposed to be.
I was mainly worried about getting into someone's path as I tried correcting the spin and fought the corrections before I ran out of track (too gutless to get back on the accelerator to drive it out). Basically, I was too busy to be scared.
As Peter said, most of the pics have my car under brakes so it looks higher than it is but you guys are right, I think the Polo Cross configuration may have the rear in the wrong part of the camber curve, especially in droop. Previously, I thought the instability was purely due to the front bushes flexing but the spin occured without braking so there is a geometry problem.
I'll get the rear perches taken out as part of the next round of mods to my car.
Many thanks to Peter for his advice and Jody for the pics and huge thanks to pauld + my old school mate, Pete, for coming down with me and helping with all the fiddling about (wheel changing etc). Very happy with dropping 2 seconds from my previous Island outing but it showed in my fuel consumption with the highest session usage being 13.5 l/100km vs 12.0 l/100km (MFD reading from exiting pit lane to the chequered flag).
Hopefully, I'll have some onboard footage to add to this thread soon (didn't get the sping, unfortunately).
