Motorsport HD camera interest (group purchase)

    I'm looking at buying one of these high defenition camera kits that can easily be mounted on a car, motorbike, boat, etc for shooting video and still's, including wide-angle;

    http://www.vsport.com.au/ecommerce/i...productID=362#

A friend told me that they sell them for substantially less than the retail price in case of a group purchase. He told me that the recording quality is pretty good. It will be a lot easier to use one of these on a track day, rather than have a friend trying to hold a camera without moving too much.

Would like to know if others on this forum are interested if the price was right? I am hoping to get the price somewhere close to $ 300 each for the kit if there is enough interest.

There are distributers in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, and I hope to have an idea about pricing tomorrow.

Anybody that has tried them, please feel free to provide feedback.

The GoPro HD Hero works pretty well.
Sound is kinda average, pretty bad if it is outside, even in the new casing.
Here's my test clip... I plan on making some more with the proper back on (so I don't have to splice in music to make the clip sound like something more than wind noise!) I had the open back on in this clip, which is supposed to be fine up to 160km/h...
I'd suggest putting the sealed back on if you're outside at all too much wind otherwise.

The functions can be confusing - it will be great when they come out with a proper little LCD back so you can get the field of view perfect.

I'm yet to try out all the functions, but the time lapse stuff sounds coool.
Under $300 would be a good price.

You can also plug this via USB directly into your platystation 3 and watch your clips in HD straight off the camera... I like that bit as they look amazing on a big screen.

Great feedback tinto, unfortunately I am unable to watch your vid as it's asking for a password, but I'm very interested so see/hear your footage.
I purchased Pinnacle software so can easily mix in some great music and remove windnoise.

A cheaper option is the MD80.

Do a search on youtube for heaps of sample clips

Cost was about $35 delivered off ebay with a 4Gb SD card.

I just ordered a couple yesterday to try out on the motorbike with a mate.

    Steve,
This is looking very interesting, let me know how you find them.

Sorry! Hadn't realised I'd left vimeo locked.
It tends to keep the quality of the video intact, unlike YouTube, but I put it up there too:
