Volksmuller has entered a std mk6 1.2 golf in speedweek South Australia commencing 18th feb. Plans are to establish a new australian title for production superchared , this is the first watercooled vw to compete on the salt lake in Australia.The golf has had major saftey modifications fitted and we hope to better the factory top speed of 118mph in standard trim.Photos ,results and story to follow soon cheers steve

I think getting through a warranty period without a major component failing would be a 'challenge'.

Thanks Guy, we set a new australian speed record for a production supercharged car, our class record stands at 115.15mph. The salt lake was harsh this year with over 40degree temps...sitting at the start line with air con full blast was a life saver.....the speed was achieved at about 5500rpm in 5th gear...slowed down if we went into 6th gear. The golf was the first ever watercooled VW to stretch it's legs out on the salt lake ...won't be the last though. cheers steve
