You have literally just missed an event at Huntley Hillclimb/Dapto. Wollongong Sporting Car Club runs events there.
Wollongong Sporting Car Club - The home of Huntley hillclimb
Running Up That Hill:
They don't seem to run the hillclimb at Wakefield anymore so next nearest on a regular basis is Sutton Rd just outside Canberra.
If you dig a hole and it is in the wrong place, digging it deeper isn't going to help.
thanks guys, look like there is another hill climb near Huntley Hill Climb in the middle of November and it's not to far from my place...think i'll sign up for it! i think a hill climb would be great fun.

NSW has the best Hillclimb series in Oz.
All here: CAMS NSW Hillclimb Championship
Plus keep a look out on CAMS for other events.
My dad hillclimbs once a month at Fairbairn here in Canberra. If its not too far might be worth looking into!
Mattara hill climb in newcastle (Oct i think??) + the MG Car Club has Ringwood up here as well.
I'll back up Mal about the newy hillclimb scene, having just done the Mattara hillclimb in my e30. It's the easiest motorsport to get into up here (until the Ringwood Raceway opens).
I've been involved in a tri-series competition between the Newy MG car club (my club), and the Kempsey and Tamworth car clubs. Basically we do the Kempsey hill climb on a piece of the old pacific hwy, some laps around Oakburn Park at Tamworth, the Esses Hillclimb at Mt Panorama, and finally King Edward Park (Mattara). It's a smaller comp than the NSW hillclimb championship, and it's certainly easy going. You don't need to be competitive.
I'm still thinking about whether to do the NSW championship next year, or do the Tri-series again. There would be a lot more travel with the nsw championship.
If you just want to try the sport out, the Ringwood track up here (north of raymond terrace) is definitely a good place to go. There are two hillclimbs left before the end of the year, and it's a very simple track layout. We don't have many cars get into trouble. The main thing is there is no pressure. Everyone is really just trying to better their own times for the most part. Check out the event calendar at MG Carclub Newcastle. All you need is a fire extinguisher (usually people just make a bracket that can get bolted down with the drivers seat front bolts), and a helmet.
