It's funny how no-one has mentioned the malaysian gp/red bull saga yet...

There's obviously not much to say about it as it was plain for all to see, then his straight out lying about being unaware of the whole 'multi21' order.
There are so many muppets out there going "oh but Vettel was faster, blah blah". He was - because he had his engine turned to full mix and max rpm settings, while Webber was cruising with his engine turned down and nursing the tyres to the end.

There are some hilarious meme's out there already...

Webber hit the nail on the head when he said that Vettel would be protected.

I read an article online where Horner said something to the effect that if Vettel was not a multiple world champion, he would have been sacked from the team immediately for disobeying the instruction. Whitmarsh also said that while he preferred to see his drivers race, if an instruction was sent out and it was ignored by one driver, that driver would be on borrowed time.

I just hope Webber finally takes the gloves off for what could very well be his last season in F1.

I guess no one commented becasue it will really come down to China before we see the fallout.

Obviously Mark is pissed and rightfully so but every other competitive team has a world champion so switching teams isn't going to help as he will always be the #2 driver unless he goes to say Force India/Marussia/Torro Rosso.

You could see the team's reasoning as they wanted to give everyone maximum points and it would have put the overall WDC standings as Vettel, Webber, Raikonen however Vettel is obviously after maximum points as he has had some close ones where he almost didn't win the WDC.

I was more annoyed for Nico Rosberg who was penalised becasue of a poor fueling decision for Hamilton.

The team wanted to make sure that both drivers finished and were in the points. They were far ahead of the competition and so the prudent thing was to let them race until the last pit stop and then hold station no matter how it panned out. Vettel had other ideas.

The thing is that teams do not get a share based on the drivers' championship. Their take is based on the total points accumulated. This is why hold positions will see them get the most of that money when they are well ahead of the opposition.

Vettel has damaged his reputation as no team will ever be able to trust that he will follow instructions.

I wonder of Alonso ignored an instruction to pit and replace his damaged front wing? I can't imagine ANY team telling a driver to stay out for another lap with such critical damage given what I have said. Maybe Ferrari did not need the money.

I was reading some post race analysis and apparently Ferrari wanted him to stay out another lap or 2 so they could let the track dry up and switch to slicks.

To be hones,t i would have pulled him in but i don't think anyone was expecting his whole front wing to shear off and get stuck under the car.

While I love Mark, great person and driver,
the sad fact is there is nothing more in the tank to give, he's just off the pace and attitude of a F1 champion
Webber had the 2010 championship locked up with four races to go, he muffed them all and came 3rd, he lost the championship on his own

Most F1 Champions are ruthless pricks, Schumacher, Senna, Vettel, etc
Jensen Button is the one F1 World Champion I would call a nice guy

If Mark had that winning at all costs metal attitude he would have turned his engine up and raced Vettel
Instead he decided to be a good boy, loose and whinge about it (can't find my violin...)

In a way that's exactly what I mean. I hope he can adopt a "win at all cost" frame of mind after Vettel's recent display. I don't even care if he doesn't win a championship. I just hope he clearly gives it to Vettel every race from this point, even at the risk of crashing them both out for a race win now Redbull have made it clear "that's fine to do"

    Lets see some action!

Heh, I'm with you on that, if they don't have equal footing Mark may as well take the gloves off and make it hard for Vettel
(That would also force Mark's retirement however - he won't get another drive after this approach)

I honestly reckon he'll retire after this season. Flav has already made public statementsto the press that he will leave red bull. I can't see him going anywhere else worthwhile if all he wants is a wdc.

He may as well just throw caution to the wind now and do whatever he wants so he can win. He's got nothing to lose!!
