How good was the race...pity about Mark's start, but he held it together (when others didn't *cough..vettel..cough*) to get second.

3 things i learnt after watching this race:

    1) Vettel doesn't know how to over take ..safely ( i guess i should have realised that after Turkey when he took out his own team mate)

    2) The BBC commentary team(Jonathan Legard & Martin Brundle) REALLY don't like Michael Schumacher

    3) SPA is my new favourite F1 race to view!! Looked amazing on the first lap when they got up to speed with them all still bunched up...loved it!

Which brings me to a question: Wade, whats it like as a racing spectacle being there in person? As good as it looks on tv?!

Dude, it was unbelievable! I left sarah in Kerpen with some German friends of ours (actually just down the road from schueys go kart track!), and drove there and camped from thursday arvo till monday morning in the campgrounds with the crazy euro boozeheads!!

Just walking around, having to walk thru the areas of forest to get from one spectator point to another and the general admission access is pretty good really. Awesome vibe. Weather was all over the place and the whole village turns into an F1 party!

It's good to see on tv but they have all the giant screens everywhere too so you can see the tv coverage while you're there.

I ended up getting a little balcony spot in the toilet block up on the hill at the entry to pouhon. there was some crazy guy manning/cleaning it who let me and two other guys cram in there. Then he sticky taped my Aussie flag to the roof way up which Webber saw and pointed at on the parade lap!!

So, yea good on telly but nothing compares to the sound and smells of the real thing. Its magic when you first hear the cars echoing thru the forest up the straight after radillon!

F1 in the flesh is one of those things you MUST experience in life. The sound, smell and sight of it is simply unbelievable!

Spa was a good race. It is such a lovely track and it was a fairly lively race. Looking forward to monza and the pointy end of the season ahead.

Wow, does Mark need to work on his starts or what?

There was a moment in the race when my hopes were lifted that RBR were playing team orders and favouring Mark by developing strange engine issues with Vettel, but man were they squashed when Vettel leap frogged the pack Mark was fighting in. How Hulkenburg didn't get a penalty - or even come under investigation from the stewards at a minimum - is beyond me. Cutting the corner, then changing his line twice!

The sprint to the championship is sure getting more and more interesting isn't it? Alonso's charge is worrying me a bit as he might just be able to reel Webber in at this rate.

not too worried about alonso as he has no engine swaps left so means at least one race he will be penalised alot of grid spots

Hamilton needs to work on his starts more! It's sort of Marks own fault for that finish, he waited thinking Hulkenburg would be penalised and ended up losing all those laps behind Hulkenburg. If he had just overtaken him he maybe could have gotten up and past Roseburg and perhaps even in front Vettel.

Redbull were almost writing these last 2 races off as ones they wouldn't perfrom well in. Hopefully they'll be back to dominating form from Singers onwards.

Have to agree though, woeful start again by Webber...he really could've pushed out a lead in the Drivers Championship after Hamilton crashed out on the 1st lap.

Vettel suffered brake, not engine problems.......according to Red Bull.

I call B/S - Red bull hobbled Vettel's engine momentarily so Webber could easily sail past.

Team orders disguised as a brake problem. I'm pretty sure Vettel has enough car feel to know if he has binding brakes or his engine has been detuned - he did not call over the radio that his brakes were binding. Binding brakes, in my opinion, rarely occur on an F1 car, and even more rarely do they fix themselves.

    Disgusted.
