Another exciting race, thanks to weather!
Red Bull totally stuffed it up today. They really need to get their poo together if they are going to win the Championship. Gotta find some consistency. Webber also needs to dig deep and pull something extra out if he's to be taken more seriously that Vettel.

Basically Webber got a great start and got in front of Vettel, Alonso jumped it and passed them both but subsequently copped a penalty. Then after a safety car Webber got pushed wide by Hamster and lost about six places.

Then Hamilton decided to race Vettel down the pitlane. He needs a boxing by the other drivers to get down to earth.

It's interesting that Button has outpaced and outraced Hamilton overall. They all were writing Jenson off saying that Hamilton will eat him alive. I like Jenson, he's a good dude, keeps his head on straight and is a much better sportsman and he's showing far more maturity, pace and composure under pressure than Lewis. Jensons tires were in much better condition than lewis' at the end too.

    He deserved to win today.

Was also cool watching Massa and Petrov passing Schuey!

Webber's car was running extra downforce in the hope that rain would come and the straight-line disadvantage he had would be more than compensated for by higher cornering speeds. Unfortunately the wet weather didn't come, and without the outright straightline speed, Webber had no chance.

Bad strategic decisions are really hurting RBR. In a year where Webber really needs their full support if he's going to make a serious challenge for the championship (he's off contract after this year I believe, and there's no surety that RBR will re-sign him, or that any of the teams at the pointy end will take him on), he's not having a lot of luck. I don't know that Vettel's outdriving him, but he seems to have had the better run of circumstances.
    Nothing to see here...

It was Hans Joachim Stuck who is head of VW Motorsport who made the press release actually. I have a feeling they are actually intending to use the Volkswagen brand as they would leave it to the respective Audi/Lambo departments to do their own press if that was the case. Plus, Audi do have F1 history of their own.
Maybe if they abandon Le Mans series they could defect to F1 again?

I think there will need to be an opportunity for totally new design and engine config rules for VAG to REALLY be interested though...

That is awesome news. VAG could make some great engines for F1, and to be frank, Mercedes needs competition at the moment.

    Qualifying result

    1. "Australia's Mark Webber"
    2. Vettel
    3. Hamilton
    4. Alonso
    5. Button
    6. Schumacher
    7. Kubica
    8. Rosberg
    9. Massa
    10. Kobayashi

Another front row lock-out for Red Bull and an awesome pole for Webber!!
He really needed that to assert himself over Vettel.
Kobayashi was pretty bloody quick too!!

Now RBR need to convert tomorrow - especially Webber.
