    Volkswagen talking about entering F1.

    Volkswagen considers F1 in 2018 | FIA | Formula 1 news, live F1 | ESPN F1

Volkswagen could consider a move in to Formula One in 2018, according to VW's head of motorsport.

Wolfgang Duerheimer has said that a future move in to Formula One was a possibility, despite the company's head of technical development seemingly ruling out such an entry back in March. Volkswagen's stable includes Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat and Skoda, and it is likely that any team would run under one of these names.

"I could imagine involvement in Formula One in 2018, when the company is at the forefront of the industry," Duerheimer told Auto Motor und Sport. "We have enough brands that could do that."

Formula One has been attempting to attract new manufacturers in recent years, with the 2014 engine regulations deigned to be more appealing to those looking to enter the sport. Adrian Newey said that the original four-cylinder turbo units were proposed for 2013 because Audi would enter F1 as a result, but the manufacturer decided against the move, and the engine regulations were subsequently changed to 2.4L V6 turbos to be introduced a year later.

+ 1 to this. although my thought's on vettel is that's since he's become world champion he's become a bit arrogant. Webber's hope for this year's title race is pretty much over. unless vettel decide's to crash or have engine failure for the rest of the season (perhaps jenson can crash into him to give him piece of his own medicine like at spa last year).

INTENSE! I always kinda liked Kimi

Gotta say tho this season didnt really do it for me. Maybe it was Vettel's dominance. Hopefully next year will be a lot more interesting.

He showed some character in the rally cars, pity formula 1 removes the drivers personalities. Yup, hoping for some close racing next year and fingers crossed Webber is still up the pointy end.

It's good that he is going to formula 1 again. He ran a Truck and Nationwide race this year in NASCAR and he did well for his first outing, but he still struggled. I think like most people not accustomed to oval racing, he underestimated how difficult it is to "just turn left"

    Favourite quote of Kimi.....

"I was having a ****!" when asked why wasn't at a press conference.

If nothing else, he adds personality to a sport full of egos (lewis!)

About 1 mth ago I found out one of my mum's cousins back in motherland Italy got married and was coming to OZ for their honeymoon... well I met them on Saturday and it turns out he's a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer for Scuderia Ferrari F1 !!! His gig is to get updates from Aero + Chassis + susp designers, then analyse and align towards moving all in the same direction.

My first question.... So whats Newey doing so right? His immediate answer was Blown Exhaust, next year will be very different!
