Tim Bailey broke the 12 second barrier last night.

12.99@106.87 on the 2nd pass. First Mk1 Golf in Australia into the 12s, full street trim, on Kjet!

Will supply time slip when I get one.

Unfortunately that's it for the Golfworx Performance Mk1.. It went 13.1 on the next pass melting a piston and pumping a lot of oil out.

Still, not bad for a 400K+ engine that only had a set of rings and bearings thrown in it!

Finally cracked into the 12 second mark tonight...I had 4 runs as it was very packed at WSID. My times are on the left lane highlighted in yellow

    Run 1 - 13.307
    Run 2 - 13.230
    Run 3 - 13.079
    Run 4 - 12.969

I think I finally have this launch control worked out and what revs to let go of the brake.....it seems to be all about getting a good 60' time, still have to crack the 1.8s 60' time as some of the other folks have but hopefully one will be on the cards soon.....time slips below....

Woohoo sub 13. Well done and a 1.8 60' should pull another 10th off the time. Looks like you picked up 3mph compared to last time as well.

    Awesome times Ferret.
Quick question, do you have the "new" APR Stage II+ software?
(It was released less than a month ago).

Any idea on what was changed? Any significant changes in power delivery?

Ferret given you've been there a few times did you run stock as well? The only stock DSG R time I could find was shakespeare (on 28.1deg ambient day) running 14.264@97.08mph which seems slow for a stock car.

Intereted to see if you had stock, stage 1 with bits and the current config?

I don't know the technical specifics of what changed, but the midrange power delivery has improved A LOT, turbo spool up coming quicker now etc. There has been some discussion in the Tuning forum about how this "hole" in the power delivery meant that when power did come on, you'd get a nice kick in the back. But that means when customers then tried a custom tune where this area was improved, whilst the car was actually measurably faster, it "felt slower" because it's so much smoother you dont' get the "kick". That's how best to describe the new APR Stage II+ software released end of last month.

... but if there are more questions, we better take it to the tuning forum so this doesn't go further off topic.
