Where and what to look for?

    Hey all,
Currently selling my vr6 and looking at getting a cupra so far i have only found one for sale. I dont have much of a clue with these cars so i was wondering how reliable they are?what to look for when buying one?and how much to expect to pay for one?

Any help with these questions would be great guys!

    Hi Dom,

I guess from your post that you haven't driven a cupra yet & I certainly haven't driven a vr6 so I can't give you a comparison between the power of the two & the way I understand it there is a lot of mk3 in a cupra. The 16v abf engine is a great engine once you get it on song & it loves to rev. The car is great at highway speeds, well geared with good torque. When standard the car was a sweet handler if a little nosey, mines on coilovers & while a little harsh is on rails now. Mine has always been very sensitive to tyre pressure changes.

From a reliability point of view I use mine as a daily driver & have had little go wrong in 10 years of ownership, certainly nothing that has stopped me driving it......well apart from when I broke the dip stick

Cost, I don't know what a good one would fetch but i would think not to much, Golf Loon would have a better idea of the current state of play & he can also help with most parts as well.

Your golf would be a far more flexible car having 4 doors & the hatch with a bit more room as well, but if you're like me & don't care about how much space is behind the drivers seat then that isn't an issue.

    cheers

    Phil
