What engines will fit?

Hi All
Ok i have a 1995 SEAT Cordoba 1.8 GLX petrol automatic engine=adz and have been thinking about trying to get a new or rebuilt engine, 113,000+k and is starting to struggle more then it use to up steep hills...i wanted to know what engines will fit...my engine is a VW engine so is that not an original engine...i have had the car for about 3yrs and am hoping to keep it for life...by the way i am a car bimbo so i wont understand technical words lol. Thanks for any help.

UPDATE-goes up hill heaps better since i got the 2" cat back exhaust system put on!

Any of the VW 1.8's should fit. Golf, Jetta, Audi 80 and 100.

An Audi 1.9 is a better option as it fits straight in and has a little bit more power and torque.
83 kW (113 hp) at 5600 rpm, 160 N·m (120 ft·lbf) at 3400 rpm

Any of the VW wreckers should have a few low kilometre engines to pick from and an engine swap is easily done in a day.
