I had the opposite problem on my old Bora, the brake lights would never come on!
I played around with the brake light switch (near the pedal), that solved my problem
Good luck.

Is it only the brake lights that are staying on?? It could be that that the brake pedal spring has stretched, and that it is contacting the brake light switch.

Or the switch on the brake pedal has come off, or the wires have.
Take out the pocket by the drivers knees, then stick your head under there and see where the switch is in relation to the brake pedal.

If you cant find anything in the mean time remove the fuse or you will melt your lenses. Sounds like switch U/S or its not contacting the pedal to open the circuit. If you are stuck pm mate as i see you are in Briz.
