    toledo key malfunction

    G'day
I was looking for some advice concerning problems with the key to my Seat and found your forum very helpful.
Saturday night the Seat would start and then immediately shut off. This went on and I had to leave it there. the next day I could start and drive the car with the spare key, but not with the remote-key.
So I surfed the net and found a lot of interesting stuff about transponders and ways to make your own key.
First of all I suppose I have to check if it's possible to reset the key - may it's just a bit tired and needs a solid kick in the ass?
If ass-kicking is no good, next step is to put a new transponder in key?
Where do I find the transponder - in the front end of the key?
    My SEAT is A Toledo 5P 2007 with a 1,9 TDI 105 hp motor.
    Thanks all.
    Cheers

the transpo is in the key head (big plastic black end) I glued mine in as it fell lout once I yanked the key oddly.
its grey graphite looking (mine was) and if u drop it in a car park u hve no chance to tell where it is on asphalt.
check a key reset link ...do a search on here...seats are rare now..so not much help here for a cuppla yrs...
