    Time-line of a wreck to a rebuild

Thought you guys might like to see that we dont let them die over here....
My Mk2 Ibiza Cupra 8VGti /sport whatever whatever..

Written off as Category 'C' after a shunt in the rear whilst sat at traffic lights.

Purchased for a steal back in autumn/winter '06... sat looking very sorry for itself for a while due to having been kept in 'offroad' status by me ( to enable me to get a few bits, get it through the VIC check etc)**stricter version of the MOT /roadworthiness test**

First major purchases wre the replacement tailgate (wrong colour, but a lot straighter than the original one ), slam panel etc and some replacement rear clusters due to the originals being smashed in the crash

Sat in this guise for a fair while whilst it was VIC'd then once done and MOT'd (failed only on front suspension mounts, suprisingly considering the smack in the back it had) it then had a bit of filler -work done to plump its ass back properly

Once done, the red strip was sourced, and fitted over the summer also sourced a replacement rear bumper ( in red ) and as it was summer, took in a few trips to various shows/meets etc.

finally , off it went to the Sprayers to have the rear end blown over, so ended up looking half decent by the end of summer..

Again, once winter was upon us and work took precidence, it sat, used possibly once a week if that to trundle to the shops..

Treated it to a set of White Powder-coated Estorils way back last year ,and finally today i got some rubber wrapped on them.
(have took these snaps just before sun down this evening with rims placed in front of existing ones)

Will soon be lowered , have the rims changed over (scruffy **winter** rims on at present, due to the oh, so lovely rocksalt etc thats used on the cold snaps over here) and have a few more little touches done before (hopefully ) a trip to SantaPod in April (mot and tax up before then , and im away in NZ for just over three weeks prior to the early Spring show at Santa Pod too, so time is an enemy at moment.

All in all , not a bad little motor for what its cost me

Written off car cost £185 (English ) ..
    replacement tailgate £25,
    rear Crashbeam £15
    Vic/Roadworthiness test £36
Spray over at rear and blend-in Approx £150
Rims (original fit on some Corrados) £90 off Ebay in UK
Rubber to put on rims £50 (again Ebay) ..bought a set of scrapped rims with good tyres )
few other bits and bobs along the way which were negligable price-wise

so all in all about £600 as it stands, not too bad considering I sold its predecessor ( a Mk2 1.4 ) for £500

unfortunately, its (only) an 8 valver , so not too much to be gained.. but if a mk3 Cupra (1.8,20Vt) engine happens along ,...
but even as stock , its grunty enough . Im in a diesel van for four or five days a week , so its my little Go-Kart in comparison

Off for its MOT/roadworthiness test in just under two hours.. (i hate these things, why d'ya always feel sick?) so dependant on how it fares, will determine how soon the next major mod goes on (altho im off to NZ in a fortnight too for 3 weeks, so that will do a dent time-wise)

Vic test is a bummer mate they brought that in when i left. There is a lot of steals over there and i could bring in so much here its not funny, my dads mate owns a wreckers that services 3 of the largest insurance co. So many lovely things go throught the bailer if the price of scrap metal is good.
Cmon Oz loosen the belt a bit and let us bring some toys in - im sure that would create a lot of interest on here.
    Heres hoping one day hey
Cheers and by the way you can slam an ABF unit from mk4 its what they use mate with an 02A Getriebe.
