Things to look for

Hi guys, I am looking at buying a Seat Ibiza GTI or Cupra. Are there any stand out things that I should be looking for when inspecting one? There is only one GTI for sale here in Adelaide that I might be looking at on the weekend and there is a Cupra in SYD that I might have to fly over and check out as well.

Hi there,

I've had my cupra since new in 99 without any major problems with it. Just check the service history of any car you look at, check to see if the timing belt has been changed when it was supposed to have been etc.

I'm sure some of the other guys will jump in with more advice.

I took a GTI for a drive on the weekend and apart from the overall condition of the car being average it drove nice. I think that the extra power of the Cupra would be nice though.

There wouldn't happen to be a really nice person in NSW that is willing to check out a car for me I suppose? Otherwise I might hop on a plane and go have a look. Not many Ibiza's for sale in OZ at the moment.
