Just got back from a weekend down the coast driving the wifes Seat Toledo 2L 16v ABF. It goes great if you keep the revs over 3000, but you then keep the speed over 100 pretty easy too.![]()
I want it to acellerate faster and dont mind trading a bit of top end to achieve this. I have driven an 8v Toledo and it was 10 times nicer to drive around town. The clutch cable on the ABF engined SEATs lets it down as it is so long and curves round twice. They should have made em hydraulic.
I have a couple of options.
1. Put in a lightened flywheel and retain the 02A (heavy) gearbox.
2. Rip out the cable change 02A box and cableshift and put in an 020 with Golf Clutch and shorter and lighter clutch cable.
3. Put in a set of KR cams, or an exhaust cam as the intake. If anyone has any details on how successful this will be, let me know.
Its ready for a set of new engine mounts either way, so now is the time.
I`m thinking option 2 and 3, what do you guys reckon??
