Has Golf VR6 front subframes, Brakes and engine. Aftermarket fuel computer. Looks slick. I`ll bring it on the cruise on 5th Feb, you can see what you reckon.

    HooooooooRaaaaaaaAaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhh

Seat got engineered on Wednesday, Blueslip and Rego today.
    Happy Birthday to me.

Went home, put the big exhaust back on and had a tinker with the fuel mixture. The car is going on a dyno on Monday, but wanna be able to gun it at the cruise on Sunday.

Gave it a bit of a drive today, heaps of fun and goes better with more exhaust flow. I love the sound of a VR6 howling!

I`ll give it a clean and take some pics on the weekend.

    is that a 12v engine???

i would like to see what power figure you get, and what exactly you have done with the engine..... also, do you now how much front cuts go for in Aus?? did you only do a gearbox and engine swap... or have the front brakes also been changed (including changing to 5 studs). also how hard is the conversion, not talking about the wiring part... but the actually bolting in of the new engine. can you still use all the stock mounts (gearbox and engine) and sub frame from a 95 GTi? what can it beat (skyrice, commo etc etc) how does it handle compared to the 2L engine. and lastly... is it worth it?

i have kinda been interested in this convo... but no one in England would give me a stright answer... so i waited till someone in Aus did it.

    any help would be great.

Yup 12v engine. The front cut cost $4000 a couple of years ago, but VR6s are getting cheaper. You need the subframes, engine and box and front struts, hubs and brakes, yup conversion to 5 stud. The engine is stock, but low kms.

GTI SEATs have the same subframes as the Golf VR6, so you might be able to keep the frames and just bolt the golf engine and bigger mounts on. Equally you could get bigger front brakes for a SEAT Cupra Sport or something and retain your 4 stud hubs.

It was all bolt in plug and play, except for the Microtech fuel computer. I`m gonna get that tuned and dynod on Monday, so will let you know power figures then.

Its worth it for the noise it makes, havent really raced anyone yet, but will update you soon.
