    How to test for a failed injector - 16v Ibiza

    So it seems I am now at a loss to why I get not bang from #3 cylinder and figure it must be the injector.

    How goes one about testing an injector and anyone have any idea what they cost to replace?

    So have you ruled out all the spark side? Plug, coil, ect.

    There are things called noids which you place between your injector and the wiring. These detect the pulse and flash so you can see if its getting a signal. Or pull the injector and take it to a shop for a spray test to see if its blocked or just not working. Find a good friend and swap injectors to see if it makes a differenc

    Wasn't an injector but a burnt exhaust valve.

    Could the Garlock chip have had anything to do with it?
    What's your oil temp normally showing?

    Not the chip. Missing a cam bucket shim when the head was stripped. 16 valves - 15 shims...
