    HELP! biza gti engine trouble

    my 95 ibiza gti is running really rough, it starts and then its making a kind of popping noise out the exhaust and when i rev it it will drop by itself, it seems to improve once its warmed up but still not right.

    might be worth changing the coolant temp sensor , cheap part might be an easy fix . cheers

    Or vacuum leak. Check the intake boot and hose from the back of the throttle body.

    spray electr leads with wd40 may help if no go yet
    german - english translations esp vw documents!!

    Dismantling 95 Seat Cord'a and 73 campers and 74 dc van !!! Some Mk1 and t2 ant3 gear in my stash,,,

    If you've no joy with the coolant sensor, change the Digifant ECU Voltage Control Relay - #30 on the fuse box p/n 165 906 381. All dealers will have in stock at about $35 RRP. It's the central relay to the entire engine management system and a very common failure. Most common symptom is significant misfiring at around 3k RPM, but it will also cause a heap of other faults due to affecting the throttle position signal etc.
