Hi all,
yesterday my Ibiza stalled at the lights. I called the RACV and their guy diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump cutting out. He was able to restart by spraying some fuel into the engine but ten minutes later the car began losing power and died once again.
So basically I need some help in sourcing a new fuel pump in Melbourne. The mechanic I'm going to use is a decent guy but has limited knowledge working on Seats and obtaining correct parts. Ideally I want to be able to just supply him the right part and let him do the rest.
So if the the fuel pump does indeed need replacing, could I use a pump from an equivalent model Golf? Or am I looking for a part that is specific to the 96 Ibiza GTI?
I'm not all that mechanically minded I'm afraid so thanks for bearing with me, but I love driving my Ibiza so I'm hoping to get her up and running again as soon as I can.
Thanks again.
$280 plus $15 fright for a brand new german made pump including housing delivered to an address of your choice next day.
Or $100 for a second hand one plus freight.
Go new and it will last for a lot longer.
