    New o2 sensor and fuel filter helped. The fuel filter was full of crap and the o2 sensor was a bit on the not looking ever to have been replaced side of new so the butt dyno has claimed an increase in hp, now to see if it improves economy and drivability as well.

    ECU EPROM due before end of month also.

    I love the fact such a cheap car, with relatively low performance, can give so much reward. All the small things that make up the whole really count in this build.

    Absolutely - I'm with you there

    I love the 16V engine - have not seen the suspension but I assume it's early VAG?

    If I could find one I would probably grab it and follow your lead

    Brakes are on. HE'LL braided lines, grooved discs and mintex pads.

    Rear suspension is in, front struts need some new bits before bolting them all back in tomorrow! Yippee!

    Seems a shame to torture those lovely brake rotors - should be fun however

    Cup kit fitted. Managed to snag the front lip already.

    Brakes certainly bedded in but a wheel alignment is required.
