    Cupra mini build thread - Blanco Gringo!

    Welcome to the 'Blanco Gringo' (white boy) little 16v project that a mate and I have started on.

    The basics;
    - 16v 2.0 purchased recently. Ran ok, not fantastic but shouldn't be so hard to sort out with some maintenance
    - Cupra (so it has the half leather)
    - OMP rear and front tie braces

    Already done;
    15" BBS RS
    Alpine stereo install including amp/sub

    Coming soon;
    H&R Comfort Cup Kit
    Garlock EPROM
    Replace all brakes to slotted and fast road pads/braided lines
    A proper exterior detail

    Not much else to mention. Needs a new lambda probe and some knick knacks like an aerial, etc etc but these are nothing too complicated to sort out.

    Here are some pics that have been floating about for a while, be adding some more as time permits.

    Cupra mini build thread - Blanco Gringo!

    The Garlock chip/EPROM will do wonders, real improvements to be felt there, especially off the line!

    Will follow this thread

    This is where is most needs help!

    The car using about 10/lt/100km so I am considering the lambda probe will assist if it has not been replaced recently.

    (I shouldn't be so passionate about someone else's car, but as I am getting free reign in modding it, I have invested ownership! )

    All the cool kids have Cupra's.

    Have you thought about a lighten fly wheels.

    Quick bit of read says a lighten flywheel is the best bang for buck mod after intake and zorst.

    Interesting I agree on lightened fly but still will persevere for now without. I can't believe we bought this as a donor car!

    Tonight the ISV was cleaned with upper cylinder treatment and the dizzy cap and rotor got a going over. There must be a leaky seal on the dizzy drive as there was a good splash of oil on there!

    Short story, it idles better and pulls stronger in lower rev range now. Just need to sort out the rest of the business...

    Did a bit of a road trip in the little one on the weekend. Highway speed no aircon 400km @ 7.2lt/100km! Before tuning it was only getting 9-10lt/100 on those sorts of miles/speeds.
