Check around for any split hoses. Could be the potentiometer for throttle position. You can have it scanned, potentiometer throws a code when its ill.
Good luck

Bron's Cordoba has just developed a varying idle speed problem. It's a bit random and varies between 900 and 2000 RPM. The rubber isolator under the throttle body is OK. I really need to fix this as she has bought a Bora and wants to sell the Cordoba. Anyone interested in a very tidy '95 red manual with a RWC and 12 mths reg in Melbourne?
Hugh.

Unplug each of the connectors to the single point unit in turn whilst the car is running. If it doesnt change the running with one of the parts unplugged there is a problem with the singlepoint unit. You can buy each of the parts of the unit individually, but they are very expensive. A secondhand single pint unit will be a cheaper option.
Also would be worth checking the dissy is done up tight, randomly variable timing will do the same thing

Thanks Guys,
I'll have a look over the weekend.
Hugh.
By the time I got to it it had settled down and is no longer a problem. I had previously had the cam belt off and dropped a tooth on the auxilliary sprocket and had to reset the ignition timing. Perhaps it took a bit of running after the ignition timing was altered to sort itself out.
Hugh.
