Cordoba low idle on start up

What would cause the engine to idle at 500rpm on start up?
When it does eventually warm up the revs reach a normal 800rpm.

    Some background info,
I recently had the head off and gave everything a good clean as well as replace valve guides seals etc. I also replaced the rubber mount between the throttle and intake manifold and a leaking vacuum hose.
The car now runs a lot more smoother no complaints except for the low start up idle speed.

    What have I done wrong?
What should I check to try get this fixed?

    Thanks

Dissy timing could be out. Try advancing it a little bit.

Or vacuum leak. Check the brake booster to intake hose, especially the one way valve. Do it with the engine running and listen for airleaks, If you block the hole and the idle picks up, you have found the culprit.

The timing was fine I also checked the one-way valve was working and couldn't find any vacuum hose leaks.
As long as the engine is warm it idles smoothly and consistently even the exhaust sound is smooth (I've had vacuum leaks in the past and the exhaust sounded rough).

It's as if the car recognizes when the engine is cold and instead of increasing the RPM to around 1000 it chooses 500

    Wow,
It's been a year since I started this thread but the problem I had remains.
Today I have some more info that may hopefully bring an end to my cold start idle issue.

First the engine is a 1.8 ADZ Mono Motronic single point injection. On cold start it idles at 500rpm but is fine when warmed up.

I decided to take a closer look inside the throttle body of another Cordoba, what I noticed when I turned the ignition on was the throttle position actuator adjusted the butterfly valve but when I turned the ignition on in my car the throttle position actuator showed no signs of activity.

I took both out of their cars and swapped them around thinking mine might be faulty. Turned the ignition on in the other car with my throttle position actuator and it started working. Turned the ignition on in my car and the previously working throttle position actuator showed no signs of life.

That's all I know so far

Cjeck the engine wiring, especially to the connector on the unit and the multiplug on the engine.

Did you try loostening the dissy 13mm bolt and turning it to the left?
Will advance the timing and make the idle higher and car faster!
I reckon you moved the intermediate shaft pulley when you had the head off.
