    Do you have access to a laptop and VCDS.

    Best bloody thing to start problem solving. If that doesnt deliver any results you are like me and chasing your tail.

    Buy the time i spend the coin diagnosing this problem its gonna be almost as much as getting a Vag mechanic to do It...... I may have to let the pro do it........ Thanks for the help guys

    Okay got the car scanned. Came up with faulty speed sensor... implausible signal. The guy cleared fault and said would be a good to rescan and see if fault come up again on a later date

    This fault doesn't really relate to whats happening with my car tho..
    From what I read if I had a faulty speed sensor the car wouldn't start at all. After ringing another mechanic he seems to think the car isnt getting correct fuel air mixture on cold start up sounds more like it to me.

    After looking over the car yesterday I found that my breather hose was stuffed the previous owner had done a dodgy job patching it with electrical tape and glue..... I couldn't get the original hose so ive modified a hose I got from repco installed it and the car starts perfectly.
