what does gti stand for?
Hi all,
I have just sold my mk4 Golf GTi and am looking for a cheap runabout to replace it, but would like to remain in the VW family.
On the list:
97 1.8 Cordoba Alpine with almost 200k kms on the clock
-or-
95 Toledo with 170k kms, sunroof...
Both around the $3k mark, of course I wouldnt pay that much.
Would what be the better buy? How reliable would they be with that many kms?
Anything specific I should look out for?
Any advice would be great!!
Thanks.

Hi gtiboi82 i bought my 1995 1.8 Cordoba over a year ago at 105k with 1yr rego and rwc for $4,600 that was dec 2009 never had a mechanical issue never broke down or over heated(even when my coolant reserve was empty) very reliable plus i was lazy and only serverced him once that whole time. I dont know anything about the toledo's but i would recommend the Cordy as mine has never let me down...i guess if you want to compare their specs go to redbook.com.au it might help.
