'94 Ibiza 1.4, ABD engine.
Hi All,
I've been replacing my timing belt, (as per previous thread) and discovered in the process that I've got a broken breather hose. This seems to be the main source of the oil that is all over the lower half of my engine and dripping onto the drive. Without the breather hose (I figured there wasn't much point putting it back on), The oil separator spits oil all over the side of the engine bay that it's pointing at.
My question is. Has the breather hose perished because there's too much hot oil in the lower part of it, and is the oil separator broken?
Alternatively, are my pistons/rings just too old and worn, and the oil separator just can't cope with the quantity of gas going through?
Any help or thoughts are most appreciated. I'll post a pic of the broken breather hose soon.
Here's a pic of the offending breather hose. If I'd bothered looking, I probably would've noticed a long time ago. It's pretty dead.
