'95 Seat Ibiza

Hi all
I was recently given a '95 model seat ibiza 1.4i, 3 door hatch, which i must admit hasn't been given the loving it my have deserved over the years. i replaced the front wheel bearings and one hub, and one front brake calipre within the first couple of months and will be looking at a clutch kit sooner rather then later. at the moment my main concern is a squeak in what i think is the timing belt tensioner. the timing belt and pump where replaced not long ago, according to the service history, but i have a loud squeak just above idle and a high pitched whine that goes up and down with rpm as i'm driving. the squeak seems to be coming from somewhere down under the lower timing belt cover. Any idears what else it might be? and where the best place to buy a good quailty but not overpriced clutch kit and timing belt tensioner would be? I'm in Brisbane by the way.

I bet they didnt do the waterpump when they did the belt.
The waterpump on the 1.4 is the tensioner on the belt and should be changed when you do the belt or it squeaks.

thanks for the info, is there a timing belt idler on this model?? i have been told by my mechanic that the timing belt, idler bearing and water pump will need to be replaced. at the same time to do the cam and crank seals and that the auxillary belt and tensioner pulley need to be replaced. what of these parts, if any, are there after market stuff available??

The waterpump is also the tensioner on the 1.4. There is no idler pulley.
I reckon the squeak will be the waterpump.
Aftermarket waterpump should be $60ish and belt, probably $50.
Get a waterpump with a metal impellor, not plastic.
