    '95 cordoba key barrel prob

    Hi all,

My sister drives a '95 cordoba - it needs a replacement ignition key barrel as the current one is faulty. Occasionally she has to wait for the car to (quote) "cool down" before the ignition key will work.

    Anyone have one?

    Know where to get one?

    Thanks for your advice.

I am just guessing that these have the same construction as a Golf.

    What part do you need?
    There are two parts.
The lock. If you have trouble turning the key, this could be faulty.
The ignition switch. Turn the key and nothing happens, then wiggle it a bit and the starter turns etc.

    More details required?????

I have heaps of those ignition barrels Gavin.

$100 for the complete unit, including a key, or $30 for the plastic switch bit that normally breaks. You still need to take out the whole ignition switch to change the plastic bit.

I can do it for your sister if she brings the car to Campbelltown.
