Hi all,
I just have a couple of questions. Firstly the infamous rubber ball for my gear shift (I am not mechanically clued up so please forgive me) has finally crumbled to bits and I was using a shock absorber bush from a Range Rover, but apparently it doesn't quite fit as I am no longer able to access 1st or 2nd gear. Very embarrassing stuff having to get towed when you go to pick up your fiance from work. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement from? Currently driving my brother's Cordoba until I can fix it.
The other question I had pertained to another Ibiza I have seen for sale on Gumtree, just wondered if anyone knew the history behind it. I was thinking of getting it as a parts/spare car.

One final question I had, does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to get a car resprayed? My roof, tops of the doors and one entire panel are either mismatched or starting to fade like no tomorrow. Just wanted to know a general price range.
Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated.
I have the relay shafts in stock, back at work Monday. You can adjust the shifter up easy. If you can't get all the gears, something else is worn.
That 1.4 Ibiza has nothing mechanical that will fit your GTI.
Any car, cheap respray with the doors shut same colour is $2000. Change of colour and inside doors and engine bay $3500 plus. You get what you pay for with paint. I'd be more interested in seeing some work the shop had completed and the finished job, than the cheapest job which will be done by an apprentice in a shed as quickly as possible.
