well, had my RVC installed today. I sprayed it and had it all ready, and today Alister installed it for me and did the coding
best mod so far, well apart from the wheels
anyone thinking of doing this, it is highly recommended
the problem with those cheap ebay ones is they use an RCA video plug, and your RNS 510 wont accept that for video.
there is an adapter you can get, but not sure on cost.
For me, i just purchased the origianl VW camera and figure will do the work
I just sprayed the housing to match the car colour and now to just get it installed.

I have been deliberating as to whether this is a good thing to do or not. I have come to the conclusion that this is a mod that I would like as it will be primarily my wife's car and the more help with reversing the better.
Is there a company that will do a full install in Perth? The DIY side of things just frightens me a little.
Does the stock car have front and rear parking sensors?
Stock VW Scirocco R Rising Blue
Hey Joe just order directly from Europe. Save big $, there is a few people that can do the install in Sydney plus coding. Its pretty straight forward, the hardest bit is cutting into your rear bumper.....
VW Rear Camera KIT - Retrofit - Scirocco 1K8980551 1K9980551
funnily enough despite all the VW literature I saw that said it has front and rear parking sensors it most definitely only has rear. and to be honest I've found them pretty poor. they are very slow to react. particularly on the OPS. on second the bar will be miles away from the car then all of a sudden AFTER you've stopped moving it suddenly is right against your bumper and beeping madly. it's hard to get a good read on it. the others i've used always worked well even with just the audible warning. I could park our other cars with sensors to within about 15mm confidently. the slow acting sensors is part of the reason I'd like to put in the RVC. if the sensors worked as well as others I would probably just leave it as is.
john, yours looks great. could you post a pic or two from a few meters behind the car? just to see what it looks like in the normal rear end view of the car?
