Just announced today. Plus on roads.
It's nice to be right All this talk of 68K + for a fully optioned model by certain "interested parties" was a lot of hot air.

Now, we will see how much the grey importer will have to lower their price to offload their stock.

It is nce to see the "final" pricing out from VWA.
It isn't that for off the "Grey" import prices and when you consider there are extra margins, certification etc it was (is) not a huge price to pay if you wanted a car there and then....

I will be placing an order... most likely today.

I take it that by placing an order for one, that you will be getting an VWA imported one.
What are your reasons for placing an order for an officially imported one rather than the Scuderia imported units?
You showed that you were very keen on the Scuderia imported ones early on in the thread.

Yep.. that is the plan for later on today.

I was keen and if the planets had aligned with regards the Pay-out on my current car (and being able to sell it) then I would be driving a Scuderia Imports Scirocco R.

The VWA models are a little way off yet and that suits my current situation... If you go back and have a look at the Scirocco thread in the Mk6 threads and also in this thread I was happy to wait for the "Official" ones.

I will also now have a lot of satisfaction going in to see at least one certain VWA Dealer Principle who told me they would be $80K.. and no.. I won't be placing my order with him...

... and why would you pay more even if you have to wait until next year?

Not to talk about the fact that you get a car which is actually produced for Australia and comes with the extended
Australian warranty (3 years unlimited km). And if there are any NZ specific parts which fail at some stage, good luck waiting for spare parts. I doubt VWA will stock them just because there are some grey imports.

Why... because they can... it is pretty simple really. If that isn't what you would do, that is your choice... just as it would have been my choice if I had purchased one from Scuderia Imports...

The Scirocco isn't "specifically" produced for Australia, VWA specify the slightly reduced power of 188kw (the same as for Golf R) but other than that... the NZ vehicles are identical.

I was told by Scuderia Imports that the Warranty was fully supported by VWA but again... it is individuals choices as to those things being factors on "their" buying decision. Regardless of what you think... those that did purchase these cars (and they are fully compliant) have made that decision in full knowledge of what VWA were doing....

As for spare parts... what is going to be different?????? It will be no different for one of the Scuderia vehicles than it would be for a VWA vehicle.

Having said all of that.... I placed an order this afternoon for a Candy White Scirocco R with Sunroof, Dynaudio and SatNav...

    Now the waiting begins...

They are definitely great prices, I spoke to my contact in VWA and they said they are only getting 20 cars at first and then you will have to wait for 12 months.
Anyway I'm super excited because I already have mine and I'm going to start pulling it apart to install the 750hp Twin Turbo R36 engine and awd conversion.
I hope they don't void my warranty.. Hehehe
