I spoke to a guy that I see fanging one around here at Homebush, nice guy. Its a blue R and was telling me that he has had it around 8 months which he imported himself, he also told me that he got it $48K.

That car you are talking about isn't a R. It's a TSI with a ABT bodykit that Ramspeed installed, plus it's got a true and exhaust. Yes he did buy $48, plus it was second hand with 30,000kms on the clock.
It's now for sale on vwgolf.net for $70k.

Nope and yes I have seen that guy run around in Auburn just parked off Parramatta Rd.

But it wasnt that car, different numberplate and different engine. This car had R written all over the place badges, seats and engine.

Would love to see a photo of this R steve, as Scuderia imports are the only importers with approval for the Scirocco R's at the moment.. Other companies will be months away.

Yeah no worries I will when I next see him. I was in a rush to get back to work I saw this outside the Formula 1 motel at the olympic park.

If I had time I would have taken some photos, I was walking passed and talking to him in a hurry. I knew of the one in Auburn, but what caught my eye was the R sticker on the side other wise I would have kept walking.

Maybe a personal import then? Could of brought it over with him if he migrated to Australia, or bought it off someone who did the same thing??

Actually, forget that!! He would of had to have it for 12 months o/s before importing it...

Yeah most likely.. IMG international motor group have used Scirocco R's in stock starting at $48k. I know of a black manual.. But there are some time away from getting them complied.

If you see him again steve get home to join the forum.. I'm in love with these cars and really don't care about price. Just lowered with a set of wheels they are sexy!

Having driven one... these cars are amazing and I'd say nothing like a Golf R!
