They have another CW with sunroof and 19inch in NZ waiting to come over, Maybe give a deposit and give yourself time to sell your other car.
Goodluck..

They are? Could have sworn they said the Scirroco R would be priced (base price) similar to the 3 dr Golf R. So, probably looking at mid 50s for a base spec Scirocco R on the road. Once they start selling officially imported VW Sciroccos what will the effect be on the resale of all these NZ imported versions?

So, looks like they arrive in our market before the end of March 2012.

Scirocco R's from VW Australia are going to be full spec! You don't get a choice.. Like when they brought in only 200 of the MKIV R32!
It's going to be a similar thing with the scirocco R..
Good luck getting one in the $50k mark!

The resale will ne no different as these are new cars not used.. Plus they come with a two year Volkswagen Australia warranty.
No difference really, except you can wait for year of you can have one now.

VWA have not said anything on price, the figures are suggessted by SMH.drive.com.au. If you ask around at several dealers you will get varying information... I have been told by one Dealer Principle that they retail for $80K drive away... that is a crock, however if you bothered to look at the Mk6 R pricing spreadsheet and tick the appropriate boxes for a 3 door R, with DSG, 19's, MDI, BT, ACC, Leather and RNS510 (fully loaded as I have been told by every dealer) then RR Drive away in NSW is $70K.
As for being here before the end of March... again this is all speculation until VWA officially announce dates etc.
I have been told there will be some vehicles in Australia before Christmas so that Test drives can be arranged for "serious" buyers but until it happens it isn't factual.
As for re-sale value.. do you think it is going to make much of a difference in 3 years time? I doubt it and for those that are purchasing them it obviously isn't an issue.
Had I been in a position with my current car to get out of it quickly... I would have my name on a pretty little CW Scirocco with 19's and Sunroof. Looks like I will now wait and see what VWA come up with but I am expecting similar pricing, no discounting and take what you can get if you want to get one in the first batch...
I think it will make a significant difference to the resale value. As will the warranty implications of not buying a VW Australia sourced car. VW Australia offers a 3 yr unlimited KM warranty on new vehicles not 2 yrs. They also allow you to extend the factory warranty if you want - not one of the half baked after market extended warranties that dealers try to offload.
As for price.... the Scuderia prices say FROM $68K drive away. So, what sort of options do you get for that price?
If the waiting lists for a Scirocco are so long in NZ and Germany, how are Scuderia going to source a car to a buyer's spec any faster than VWA?
Your opinion only and would that be of any real concern other than for those that are buying them.... I doubt your opinion or mine will have any sway with anyone who is interested in buying them..
And Scuderia had no real obligation to negotiate this warranty with VWA... again I can't understand why you are so keen to hang crap on Scuderia Imports. That is not what Scuderia are offering.
Ring them and ask... if you are interested? Which I doubt very much....all you seem interested in doing is trying to promote a slanging match...
Again, if you bothered to get ANY facts you would know it was mentioned that NZ and UK (not Germany) were the main Countries that had long waits... they are also the 2 Countries where the imports have come from.. the first one a year ago was a Black Scirocco R which came from England and was the basis for all the work to be able to get these complied in Australia..
Who said they are able to get them to a buyers spec? Again waffling into the breeze.. You make the call, find out what is available.. ask the price and if it is to your liking...put down a deposit.
How are Scuderia getting them from NZ? They have VW dealers there who are willing to sell to them, it is a case of first in with the money for vehicles coming in gets said vehicle... not really rocket science.
I suggest if you want to know any more info.. call Scuderia Imports, I am sure Alessio or Sam will tell you all you need to know.
From what I know 67,900 car is with 19inch and sunroof.. Don't quote me on that...
As for sourcing cars, they are getting cars from both NZ and Japan.. These are either cars in stock or coming inti stock. At tge moment if you order a scirocco R in the UK or NZ Japan etc they are quoting a 12month plus wait. Volkswagen Australia might get 20 cars next April but then people will have to wait.
As for the warranty it's a VWA backed warranty with another year good will.. Plus you cam extend the warranty too.
These aren't dodgy cars, your just making assumptions without any knowledge...
They have another 5 cars available in October and then you have to wait.
There is no need to put crap on Scuderia imports..

Are AndyCh and AP employees of Scuderia?
I am not putting crap on Scuderia... these are valid questions any buyer will ask when the going price is from $67K Onroad.
Neither of you (nor anyone in the buying public) know how many cars VWA may have available for sale come Q1 2012. But AndyCh's previous posts seem to indicate he was prepared to place a "holding deposit" with VWA for the rights to one.
I could be wrong, but i hazard a guess that the Scuderia supplied cars will dry up once VWA starts importing them.
