Melbourne-based importer AVICCO have been given approval to bring USED Scirocco 2.0 TSI and Scirocco R models to Australia. The last remaining hurdle is gaining ADR approval.

AVICCO has a client willing to pay for a car to be brought to Australia from the UK to undergo compliance testing. If that gets signed off, then you should be able to buy a Scirocco in Australia before the end of 2010.

While this is excellent news, I wonder if this will simply force Volkswagen Australia's hand to import the car officially.
