Did you use your VIN number with EKTA? It may well be fitted to lower spec versions...
I would have thought that if this was fitted to the Scirocco R it would also be fitted to the Golf R.
Unfortunately I am in Indonesia right now so I can't check my car based on that picture...

Graeme looked it up for me, he lives across the road and though he has the VIN number I'm not sure if he used it so I'll ask him when I see him.

Edit: Spoke to Graeme he said the part is listed for certain engine codes in EKTA as per the image I posted and that it does not include our engine so he is pretty sure it isn't on the Scirocco R in Australia.

    Cheers Al

Perhaps if you had mentioned on the first page your source of enlightenment it would have saved the other 2 pages..

The fuse is common to other systems on Side Dash Panel fuse 1 (SC1) 10amps, so thats not an option. Why not just disconnect the sounder unit as in the video??? The two wires in the plug just go back to the Contoller which is also in the video. The only negative is the Sound Generator controller may generate a fault code. Or pull the plug on the Sound Generator Controller, again it may cause a fault code.

Nothing hits me in Controller 09 with VCDS - the Sound Generator Controller runs off a data feed from this controller. But one Byte has a possible.....

Can someone check the state of Byte 09, Bit 1 status (ie. checked or unchecked). VCDS calls it "Speed Signal Output Active".

Well, the Scirocco is fitted with a wide range of engines in Europe, but it would appear that it's only fitted to the 2.0 125 TDI (CBBB), 2.0 195 TSI (CDLA) and 2.0 188 TSI (CDLC).

I've also noted that the 1.2 77 TSI (CBZB) is specified with it as well, but AFAIK the Scirocco isn't sold with a 1.2 77 TSI.

Golf GTI and GTD models had it from 2009; Golf R models will have it from 2012 (same power output, but different engine codes).

You can unplug it, it will show a fault code but no warning light. Polo GTI,Golf GTI,Golf R,Scirocco R all have this feature in AU market

Having still never seen one on the road yet, and it is hard to tell when you are actually driving, but what does the rocco sound like from outside the car to pedestrians/bystanders/other drivers? Or is the sound only generated to those inside?
Personally from a drivers perspective I like the sound and am not really sure what all the fuss is about or why anyone would want to remove it. It may well be artificial but who cares, I know I don't.
