So no real change then other than maybe new headlights to keep the corporate face?
Just read this
Volkswagen Scirocco facelift spotted
Anyone know if the interior will be changed to accommodate the new head unit? If not this might be a good upgrade for current Golf/Rocco owners.

It also mentions that they may make use of the mk 7 R engine.
"Those figures may jump to 206kW/380Nm if the new Golf R engine is offered in the Scirocco R."
Would they actually swap the engine this late in it's life?

The R model may come even later than standard Scirocco. Get some vinyl wrapping and body kit, you will have a slightly different looking car suits your taste
I've read credible sources suggesting that this is not in fact a late-model facelift, but is a cleverly disguised next-gen (MQB platform) car. The photos were taken in Utah, and the current-gen Scirocco wasn't engineered for US sale, so some are suggesting that VW wouldn't be doing their engineering work on facelifted car in the US.
Either way, it seems unusual that they'd engineer in major changes to a car due to be replaced with an all-new model in 12-18 months.
