Scirocco Blue slip / compliance (import) ideas anyone

i recently bought a 1987 gtx from melbourne i am in nsw. It has been registered in vic for years and has has been approved and the affected ADRS for VASS certificate rectified.
I need to get a blue slip for nsw

Place that first had a look at my car was a little bit stuck on it not having australian compliance plate.I have looked in to legislation and pre 89 cars did not need this??????for lv personal import which he was the original owner(he said)and being an older enthusiast dental surgeon i jusdged him to be fairdink

Second issue he had was i did not have the original import approval?papers for the car. and have since tried getting but he said i have all the paperwork he still has..I have reciepts(even from new to london) reciepts galore years of previous vic reg papers. Vass certificates and reports. but no original import paper.only vicroads signed rego disposal form.

The car is completely completely stock and original even has cassete deck and tape holders.

all numbers match and only issue i am thinking a may have is rear seats are like all roccos i have see rear seats are waist ones not over shoulder.(child restraint housings have been installed and side door strengthening and intrusion bars to conform to vass have been added.ULP labelling and tyre placard have been rectified along with filler neck to comply. i have a list of the ADRS THAT WERE AFFECTED IF NEEDED. Regarding the comp plate vicroads state that if for whetever reason Accident mechanic that the yellow import plate is removed its not a requirement or habit to have them done again as they do not print again and its not practice to replace if not on vehichle once its done standard VIN ENG identification is all thats required.

i dont even know exactly what i am asking basically i am afraid of going somewhere else and having them put it on the system and screw me as it is still registered in vic and i have time to get some knowledge of whats got to be done.Suspected coolant temp sender has slowed me down and maybe given me a little time to do a little research.

Vicroads can only confirm the standard VIN ENG codes and standard stuff they are not allowed to disclose my PERSONALIMPORT plate number or any of the codes i need. although if i pay thirty dollars and fill out a form i can request the information through freedokm of information act(i know)wtf.

I am going to rting the engineer that has detailed VASS repot hopefully on file to see if he can help with what needs to be done state 5to state i am a little afraid that someones going to say

You need to do compliance agai!!!!!
You can only compliance an import if your the importer of the vehichle after you request to import it!!!
you cant comply a car thats already imported.

Is it pos these things have been purposefully been withheld for other intent by seller i got it for considerably less than advertised. And he knew my naievity and blind keenness.I completely believe him to be genuine and hoping for the best.any ideas input completely welcome and hugely appreciated.

was on carsales for a while if anyone saw

Ring up the RTA helpline and ask them what you have to do.

It is a problem without a personal compliance plate, but as the car has been registered in Oz already, it exists on the database, so it should be simply an Identity check and yearly inspection.

If you got info from the rta and went to a blue slip place armed with it, I reckon its doable.

I also got engineering papers for my GTI that was engineered in 99. I paid the engineer a search fee to send me a copy and then that was sufficient for the RTA.

Also see if the engineers report has a copy of the import papers with it

I saw this one on carsales too. I noticed it hung around for a long time. How much did he let it go for?

Being the ex-importer of two of these Scirocco GTX beasties, I know your pain. But being from Melbourne, I would be limited Help.

Loon is probably your best source of information for this, he managed to help wrestle one of my GTX's from Melbourne up to Queensland.

    Best of luck...

Hey Matt.. How is the old girl going? Has Beau finished with it yet?

BTW .. If anyone needs a spare Scirocco Door, theres one going in a Garage Sale next weekend. Can supply info.

    Can't really

    Hey Mark
I actually saw your other one, awaiting resto in Melb when I was down for the Dub Fest.
Beau still has your old one. It now runs an ABF 16v on Kjet and is moving to Sydney pretty soon.
Dont chuck that door out Mark, is your name on the list for a new Rocco??

Excellent - Would be good to see the old girl again ...
Door is in someone else's garage sale. Not sure I'll get a chance to rescue it, unless you specifically need it. It's in the Dandenong area for anyone interested.

I have indeed put my name on the list for the new one, can't wait.

BTW .. Did you know the C-Reg plates you had on your rocco before you registered it are the ones that came off my red 1.6 GT that provided your new bonnet?
