h pleeeeeease the caddy!
So the poor Rocco has been a bit neglected of late, so I figured with the departure of My Mk1 16v, its time to make this baby great.
I whacked in a set of coilovers out of Pedros crashed Mk1, so she is sitting pretty sweet now.
I have trial fitted the 2.5" stainless exhaust that I got from Marty at the Nats and I sent off to qpeng to get a full wiring harness and ecu made for the car.
When I rang up to pay for this, I looked on their website and saw their new line in 2.5" stainless downpipes to connect a 20VT into a Mk1 or Scirocco. I had to have one and it arrived yesterday.
Bolted it up to the motor for a trial fit
Motor could go into the car in a day now, just needs the sump and a few hoses.
However, I had pulled all the brake linkage bar setup apart, and the pedal box, so this has to be fixed before the motor can go in.
This is what I achieved today.
No more linkage bar and vague brakes for me. I used a Seat Ibiza 1.4 8" booster, master cylinder and pedal box. In front of the driver. Tomorrow I will modify the rocco column to fit into the beeza pedal box and that should be that. Will also have to fettle the acellerator position a little too, but that wil be beneficial for the throttle body position on the 20VT.
It brought a tear to my eye having to hit the car with a hammer and a holesaw, but it will be worth it for the sake of good brakes and an uncluttered engine bay. I reckon I can make it look factory by the time I`m done anyway.

Good to see you're still making progress.
Will be very interesting to see how the brake booster/MC relocation turns out.
Nice work Matt I think you need to dress that engine up and clean the engine bay a lil, I reckon a good degrease should do.
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...

Have you done much engine bay smoothing steve? You can come and do it for me if you like?
The battery to the boot has drawbacks I reckon and makes the car look less original and makes problems of where to put the spare wheel and your shopping. Wont be doing that.
What I`m aiming for is a tidy almost factory looking install in a car thats fast as fek...

I've just helped stu with his engine bay., the other week, and it sure as hell was a lot of work.
Personally a tidy standard bay will look tops any day, take Tim's mk 1 as a prime example.
I'd say it would be ALOT of work to do a smoothed bay. Not worth it IMO, especially since the bonnet is down 99% of the time!
