I don't think I can fight the dealer much with this, as it did only start happening after I got the stone chip from some spirited country driving. However, you should get them to have a look as you don't seem to have any damage caused by normal use; just seems a bad paint job.

I dunno, I have the perception that most dealers don't care much about problems like this, only major mechanical issues tend to be looked at seriously, and rectified. Blahhh

Absolutely love my car....best set of wheels I've ever owned.
The only issues I've had - a broken attachment lug in the drivers side door sill that causes it to not sit properly, and the stupid noise generator (which I have removed).
20k on the clock and I've loved every one of them.....

Loving this thread guys, Great to see all the positive remarks!!!!

BTW - in the last few weeks I've noticed my passenger side door trim getting very rakkety. sounds horrible when bass notes from my music drop in. I cant seem to figure out what is loose but if I put pressure on the door trim it completely disappears.... any ideas? maybe I have to remove the trim and get the blue tac out

16k on mine. Issues encountered so far - front grills coming loose (went missing on a track day after hitting a cone... bought replacement from dealership), much better now though still comes loose sometimes, I think the front lip's been scraped too many times (yes, driver's fault!). Also, this might vary with driving style but after 16k I've only got a hair more than 1.5mm of thread left. Too much power through the front wheels, perhaps, or perhaps too much spirited driving

Only thing I really wanted was the leather option

Not so fussed about not having leather. I do think the whole interior styling offers less than the exterior promises.

That said in any practical sense my car is just great. Can't fault it really.

Jeez, I have to say that i'd love a rocco R, and to hear complaints like these that are for the most part so petty is a surprise!!
I've driven a few at work, along with countless mk6 GTI's, Golf R's, R32's, etc etc, and really there is nothing you can really fault thats particularly out of the ordinary. Obviously paint coming off isnt good, and any genuine build quality issues, but no-one should moan about poor ride quality after installing aftermarket suspension, or bits falling off after crashing, and noisy wipers and stitching colour?
And tyre wear is normal. Thats what they do. They wear out. Its hardly something you can blame on the car.

My car is 23 years old, heavily modified, its noisy EVERYWHERE from the fuel pump to the vibrations thru the cabin from the the hard engine mounts, rattles, is stiff as a board to ride in, doesn't even have an audio system, no a/c, no bluetooth, no gps, no cruise control, no esp or traction control, it doesnt even have a cup holder!!!! OH NO! What am i gonna do???!!!

BUT, I LOVE IT! It's raw, its faster than any R32/GTI/Golf R that I've driven, its unique and I have no expectations beyond what is normal for a car of its type. Just like your awesome 'rocco R's!!! All brand new cars will have some creaks here & there as it 'settles in'.

I'm not trying to start a big thing here guys, but its hard to sympathise with most of your problems. I read some and thought "has this guy even owned a car before??"

I will someday buy a Scirocco R, and after some of the crap cans ive owned over the years, I won't complain about a thing unless it self destructs or something.

Enjoy them people, you're lucky to have them!!!

    Peace, out
