    Drivers Side Electric Windows

A few days back the battery in my 2012 Scirocco R failed. Whilst i was trying to figure this out, the electrics in the car went all haywire, windows, windscreen wipers all seemed possessed for 2-3 minutes. The worst was the drivers side electric window which would just keep winding itself down. It would seem that this resulted in some damage to the mechanism as it now makes a very unappealing grinding noise when ever the window is would down. The same noise is apparent on the way up btw.

I thinking of having a crack myself at repairing it, but was just wanting to figure out if any one has had this issue or attempted to repair the mechanism? Is it hard to remove the internal door lining? any advice would be welcome.

Have you tried performing a basic set on the motor?

With the window fully up, hold the switch down all the way until the glass is at the bottom, and do the same on the way up. Do this a couple of times, and see how it goes.

When you disconnect the battery, the motor loses memory of it's upper and lower limits.

Tried the basic reset - still grinding out the way down.

Seems some damage was done when the battery went flat and the motor kept on driving the window down.

    Thanks anyway.
