My gosh mate, That is outrageous!!!!, Picked up mine from Bill Buckle 2 weeks ago and it was perfect. I would have never accepted the car like that. I hope you get it sorted with the dealership mate, they definitely need to replace that bumper
Thanks guys

That's absolute bull****. Don't let the dealer get away with that. If they don't pay for a replacement and a repaint then go straight to VW Australia. If I were you I'd also ask for some sort of additional extras to go with it. You waited months and then it was damaged. They should be giving you incentives to keep you happy. Push and milk the crap out it man.

Once you have signed and accepted it, you are going to have difficulty getting the dealer or VW to replace anything. They might in good faith, but when you accept the vehicle and drive it away, you have accepted it.
By all means push the dealer to get it fixed, but the best you might get is for the damage to be repaired, and not the damaged part replaced.
A lesson for anyone buying a car. Don't accept it if there is a problem. Make sure that you get something in writing and are satisfied with their response before you accept the vehicle.
That seriously sucks, I'm assuming the dealer is going to blame the transporter for the damage? I would agree with wai, that you will have a hard time getting this sorted, but it's definitely worth chasing.. someone is to blame.. Maybe get the dealer to chase the transporter for the damages..!
Its not hard getting it sorted...the Dealer has already offered to have it fixed....
Asking for a replacement bumper is really a bit over the top... a replacement would need to be painted anyway so the fastest and best result is to find a high quality panel shop that specialises in Euros and get a quote from them.
Realistically it isnt "damaged" past the point of repair and no Insurance company would replace the item based on those pictures.
Just get it done and move on and enjoy the car....

I tend to agree with this...you find a decent panel beater they will have it looking like new and you wont have the hassle of waiting for another bumper to arrive, getting that painted and then fitted.
I would be incredibly pissed off if I was you but at least they have agreed to pay for repairs. It may be out of their hands and purely the transporters fault.
Dont burn your bridges with them because a dealer feeling sorry for you is a lot better then a dealer who finds you to be a pain in the ass.
I don't mind a repair if it's done well - but I don't have the time and energy to be hunting around for a good panel shop and don't see why i should be the one doing the calling round
Yea thats understandable. I had the same when I bought a set of wheels, one got damaged and the company paid for repairs but I still had to drive around and drop wheels off and pick them up which was a major pain!!
Then tell the dealer to get it sorted.... just be aware that they are NOT able to look at the premises, see the quality of work etc seeing as you are now in Qld and they are in Sydney....Plus... they are ONLY going to be interested in it being done as cheap as possible... and really...its a front bumper, low down, 99% of panel shops wont even spray the complete panel especially as as it is Candy White...
Now if it were Rising Blue or other Metallic colours that would be different....
At the end of the day... they didnt have to ship the car to you... they could have easily suggested that you sort it out yourself... or fly down and pick it up in Sydney...Did they charge you to ship it up to you??? Was it insured for that journey?? Did you sign the release from the Transport Company without inspecting the Car and noting the Damage??
