Where to get power windows fixed in Newcastle?

This Golf has chucked one too many tantrums and has decided that both front windows will not go down, the passenger rear never went down and the drivers rear works when it wants to - even dropped into the door one day going around a corner then wouldn't go back up until I opened the door, it went click, then let me put it back up with the switch.

Makes for interesting driving if you want to go to the shops - opening the door to take the parking ticket. Forget Maccas drive thru! Ok, so no great loss there. Lucky the air con works - but for how long?

So where can I get them fixed in Newcastle? Nymeyers not interested.

I would think that any auto electrician would be able to look into this issue for you - its likely to be either the window switch itself, the motor in the door or wiring thats the problem. A process of elimination would need to be employed.

Do you know any auto electricians that know Golfs? I took this Mk3 to one when I had starting issues - they sent the computer off for repair and cost me $1200 - and it didn't fix the issue - turned out to be the hall sensor in the distributor. Won't be going back there.

I would ring European Car Centre at Wickham and ask them who they recommend for electrical work.

Sounds like the electrician you used before was a flop - really a Mk3 Golf is not really any different to any other car of that era....regardless of what brand it is.
