That's the cable that runs from the ECU and splits there to have all the connectors run to various parts of the engine bay.

Possibly a wiring repair or modification.

as above, large section of the loom.
my wrapping on the wiring had come off there also when I got the car. Could be hiding some mods, repairs, or purely replacing the wrapping
