    what should i do next?

    Ok,

Stage one of my golf transformation project, new 205/40/17 tyres added to new rims.

fairly new at this so be gentle, i know a lot of work needs to be done although one step at a time. thinking of doing the rustoleum paint job although the green colour is starting to rub off on me... couple of marks near rear end which will need to be touched up etc - should have probably put it through the car wash before i added these pics too,

ideas for stage 2 please? my thoughts are lowing springs.. Stage 3 ?

    - Full service
    - Full detail, inside, outside, underside (Having a clean cars make you feel good and goes faster)
    - Stereo (Playing that latest beats is always good)
    - General tidy up (replace any broken parts)
    - Coilovers/cup kit (Save yourself some $$$ and get quality suspension)
    - Exhuast/intake

Some cheapo VR6 seats turn up every now and then ($100 on ebay recently) much better to sit in, bigger bolsters. Easy install too, only need basic tools and small amount of patience.

Also, glovebox if you don't have one.

oh yeah. forgot to mention a negative about adding these rims, when driving over 90 k/ph the steering wheel becomes a bit shakey - think that mean i need spacers or something?

spacers wont help vibration; your wheels should've been balanced when the tyres were fitted, if you haven't already done so, get an alignment; If that still doesn't fix it then get Pedders or the like to give you a suspension report, it's like $14 and they'll give you a run down on whats buggered.

as for what to do next, I agree with James, go through the car and fix the broken things, if you put them off they'll accumulate and before you know it you'll have a bucket of turd..... Also Bens suggestion of detailing it, you don't necessarily need big mods to stand out, if it's super clean you'll get just as much respect

And please don't spray bomb over your Surf Green! here's a search on vortex (of many others) of just surf greenies, peep it for some inspreration

do the wheels have a 57.1 centre bore? and are your bolt seats right? that could be leading to the shaking. check those and then get a wheel balance and wheel alignment.
